Rediscovered Wood Doors

Seasoned reclaimed lumber, better than new and unlike anything else you can get today. Each aged piece of reclaimed lumber features deep beautiful colors and character that can only be achieved with time. Every door is different, every door unique. Liberty Valley Doors has reclaimed this quality lumber from buildings destined for landfills and recycled it into beautiful interior doors and entryways for your home. In rescuing this antique reclaimed lumber, we are helping to conserve the forest and invaluable stands of old growth timber. This creates a wood door with a history all its own. Gain LEED or Green Building Points with these reclaimed wood doors, which are FSC Recycled Chain of Custody Certified.

Standard Features:
Most materials used in the manufacturing of each door are from reclaimed Douglas Fir beams, joists and timbers. Reclaimed glue lam beams are sliced for the core of the stiles and rails for engineered stability, and overlaid with rediscovered wood. Each panel plank is glued to a core for integrity and to eliminate see-through at the splits, knots and other natural characteristics. Doors are sanded, ready for finishing. Designs include 1-, 2- or 3-panel layout, with or without inside or outside segment arches.

Started a recycling program for employees to bring in unused computer monitors, batteries, TV's, etc.
Reduced waste from 15 yard dumpster to 64 gallon waste container; equates to over an 80% reduction in landfill waste
Challenged our suppliers to provide products to us in only recyclable packaging
Educated employees, friends, and the general public
Evaluated all materials used and switched to recyclable materials where possible
Sawdust is donated to local farmers
Scrap wood is donated to the public and local schools
Soy ink for printing company checks
Held monthly 'Green Team' meetings
Analyzed our adhesives for VOC and formaldehyde content
Hired a sustainability manager
Installation of solar panels for 100% energy offset to be complete by 4/15/08
Purchased Hybrid Ford Escape Company Vehicle
Became SCS FSC Certified on 3/7/08

Solar Power

Liberty Valley Doors is installing an 89 kw system and expects to be connected to the grid by April 15th, 2008. We are also installing a 28 kw system made up of 4 solar tracking devises for a 100% offset and expect this system to be online by September of 2008. We will update our site when construction begins.
